About This Course
"I feel so grateful to be taking this course during COVID-19. It’s helping me understand my own nervous system responses and giving me tools for myself that I’ll later use with clients. Thank you for this well-timed, entertaining and accessible information! The best online class I've taken ever." S.R., Oregon LMT
This course is an online, interactive distance learning course that was designed primarily for Oregon, Washington, New Mexico and any NCBTMB affiliated state massage therapists to earn their required 4 hours of CEU's in Ethics, Communication and Boundaries. Because it is interactive, it meets all requirements from the Oregon Board of Massage Therapists and can be counted as 'contact hours' towards ethics credits.
For states such as Washington, New Mexico, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Florida - their boards also accept this course for ethics hours, as do all states that accept NCBTMB approved courses. If you have any questions specific to state massage licensing qualifications, please contact your state board.
If you are taking this for CEU's to present to the Oregon Board of Massage Therapy, here is a little housekeeping:
If you are completing this course for credit In Oregon, there is an interactive community that you must join within this class. There are a few discussion questions pinned at the top of the community page for you to mull on, answer, and interact with others and myself. It is a requirement for course credit to answer these questions. Beyond that, you are welcome to post your own queries, concerns, and questions, or include inspiring moments, applicable articles, and anything related to the class.
In this class, we will be discussing our body's reaction to stress and how that can inform our communication, our boundaries with others, and our jobs as massage therapists. The course lives at the intersections of neuroscience and communication, bodywork and boundaries.
The material is centered around and inspired by Stephen Porges' work on polyvagal theory. While its observations and tenets can help us with our time at the massage table, polyvagal theory can apply to every aspect of our lives, from partnerships to parenting, work to play.
During our time together, we will be learning and applying this information in different ways.
We will have:
* Video Lessons
* Movement practices and explorations
* Short meditations
* An interactive community to discuss and play with the concepts
I hope this course will give you value way beyond the four hours of continuing education credits. Thank you.
If needed, refunds are available within 30 days of purchase through contacting us via email.

This is my third Ethics class and by far the best. So much good information from a totally new (at least for me) perspective. Fun, interactive exercises and an engaging teacher.
